Which players should have been given coaches votes for their Round 13 performances?
Champion Data’s Daniel Hoyne has named the five players who were perhaps overlooked by the coaches on the weekend.
The below guys ranked high in Champion Data’s ratings yet did not receive any votes.
See the five players below:
Rhyan Mansell (Richmond)
“Giving Rhyan Mansell a bit of love from Thursday night against the Crows,” Hoyne said on SEN’s Sportsday.
“Highest rated player on the ground, but didn’t get a vote from the coaches.
“That was the second best game of his career. I haven’t seen him apply that much pressure in the forward half before, and he kicked two important goals.”
Logan Morris (Brisbane)
“Fifth highest rated player on the ground, didn’t get a vote.
“Just watch what this guy does with ball in hand, very rarely makes a mistake.”
Brent Daniels (GWS)
“I was really shocked by this one - Brent Daniels did not get a vote.
“Yes, Xavier O’Halloran kicked four goals, but I thought Daniels was the reason why they were actually hanging around.
“We’ve never seen him have more impact in the game through his ball-winning ability.
“He had 27 disposals and 16 contested possessions which has never been done in his career before.”
Rowan Marshall (St Kilda)
“Second highest rated player on the ground, didn’t get a vote.
“Had more impact than we’ve seen him have at times this year.
“His contested possession numbers are so important to what St Kilda are doing in their contested possession profile.”
Adam Saad (Carlton)
“A bit of love for the Carlton supporters who are sending me texts saying where’s the love for our team.
“Adam Saad, again, so important to what Carlton are doing behind the footy.
“Fourth highest rated player on the ground, didn’t get a vote.
“The last two weeks against Port Adelaide and Essendon in two big games he has been enormous.”
