Australia have picked up their second win of the T20 World Cup after taking care of archrivals England by 36 runs in Kensington.
Jos Buttler won the toss and chose to field first, but the Aussies quickly put England on the back foot with David Warner (34) and Travis Head (39) taking their attack to the cleaners as opener Will Jacks went for 22 off his first over.
By the time Head was dismissed in the sixth over, Australia were 2/74 and flying and quality cameos from Mitchell Marsh (35 off 25), Glenn Maxwell (28 off 25), Marcus Stoinis (30 off 17) and Matthew Wade (17 not out) helped guide the score all the way to 7/201 from 20 overs.
With a target of 202 set, the English got off to a strong start with openers Phil Salt (37 off 23) and Buttler (42 off 28) helping the side reach 2/92 from 9.5 overs.
A spin spell from Adam Zampa (2/28 from four overs) removed both openers and the momentum flipped from there as the runs dried up.
England only mustered 6/165 from their 20 overs falling 36 runs short of the Aussies.
Pat Cummins (2/23), Marcus Stoinis (1/24) and Josh Hazlewood (1/28) were the other wicket-takers after Zampa.
The Aussies now sit on top of Group B with two wins while England is fourth behind both Scotland and Namibia with a loss and no result to their name.
Australia next play Namibia on Wednesday morning (AEST) at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda.
