St Kilda’s Jimmy Webster could be looking at a lengthy suspension after committing a late hit on Jy Simpkin in the St Kilda v North Melbourne practice match on Sunday afternoon.
The half back flanker decided to leave the ground and bump Simpkin high after the Kangaroos midfielder had kicked the ball - which left the 25-year-old flattened on the boundary line.

For mine this is one of the issues of hedging SPP’s action at 4 weeks. Webster action was at least twice as bad in my view. Does that mean it’s an 8 week penalty?

Ten weeks. Simple as that.

I just hope Jy Simpkin is ok.
Just so unnecessary. I hope we aren’t still having this conversation anymore in ‘24
Long service leave coming up for Jimmy Webster you feel. Nasty.

There is dumb.

There is dumber.
Then there is what Jimmy Webster just did.
Tribunal. High. Intentional. Rough. 5-7 weeks.
Webster will almost certainly miss his sides round one clash against Geelong on March 16.
