Port Adelaide star Connor Rozee is on the verge of signing an eight-year contract extension, according to AFL Media’s Callum Twomey.
Set to come out of contract in 2024, Rozee will be locked in until the end of 2032 – the equal longest contract in the league with Bulldogs forward Aaron Naughton.
The star midfielder has made successive All-Australian teams and is in line to replace Tom Jonas as the next captain of Port Adelaide.
Naturally, many have inquired about Kane Cornes’ thoughts on the massive extension, including his Fireball Friday co-host David King.
Can you call you know who and tell him please Cal - cheers https://t.co/8H8zy6uSF7

Cornes sits at the perfect cross-section of being Connor Rozee’s biggest fan, but strongly disliking long-term contracts.
He gave his thoughts on a big extension for the Power star last month.
“I think someone has got a voodoo doll,” Cornes said on SEN Sportsday in October.
“I think someone's got one with my face on it and they're putting needles into it because there's a big long-term contract that's about to be signed very, very close to home.
“Right under my nose and it will feature my first or second favourite player in the league.
“It’ll be for Connor Rozee, the next captain of Port Adelaide, put your house on that.
“It’s happening, I love him. But I think they never work out in the favour of the club apart from the odd exception,” Cornes said.
“But well done to him (Rozee) and as I always say well done to the management.
“I’ll cop my medicine when that announcement happens, and I'll criticise it we'll move on.
“But it's going to be a million plus (per year).”
Love the player, hate the contract. Flagged it and discussed it at length on @1116sen 4 weeks ago - for those shouting at me on X ⬇️ https://t.co/CkdrjpKQ6h https://t.co/OegfQxKQbF
