Penrith legend Greg Alexander is this week's guest on This Is Your Journey – thanks to Tobin Brothers.
Alexander, also known as ‘Brandy’ was one of the best rugby league players of the 1980s and 1990s.
After attending school in Penrith, Alexander came up through the ranks with the Panthers where he’d take out the Rookie of the Year award in 1984.
Alexander quickly rose in stature as he broke the club-record for most points scored in a season in 1985, the year he also won the game’s highest individual honour of the Dally M Player of the Year.
His crowning moment as a player came in 1991 as he captained the panthers to their maiden premiership.
He’s end up playing 228 games for Penrith across two stints from 1984 to 1994 and 1997 to 1999. In between he played two seasons in Auckland with the Warriors.
As a representative, Alexander played for both New South Wales and Australia around the turn of the 80s and 90s.
Since retiring, Alexander has become one of the biggest names in the game as a commentator and host.
He hosts morning radio show SEN Breakfast with Vossy and Brandy alongside Andrew Voss in Sydney, while also featuring on Fox League.
