Elijah Hollands is officially a Carlton player.
Gold Coast receive pick 26 and a future third-round pick (tied to Essendon).
Carlton receives Hollands, pick 28 and a future fourth-round pick.
Hollands joins his brother, Ollie, at Ikon Park who played 19 games in his debut season at the club.
Elijah played just 14 games for the Suns after being taken with pick No.7 in the 2020 Draft. He came into the AFL with an ACL injury and battled form throughout his time in Queensland.
Hollands is the first player to join Carlton this off-season with the club trading out both Paddy Dow and Zac Fisher.
Carlton head of list management Nick Austin:
“We are looking to build versatility across our playing list and Elijah fits that mould for us, as an elite runner who can play through the midfield as well as half-forward,” Austin said via carltonfc.com.au.
“His game is based around contest and pressure, two things we really pride ourselves on at the Club. We look forward to seeing Elijah get to work over the summer and compete for his place in the senior side.”
Gold Coast general manager of player talent & strategy Craig Cameron:
“Elijah was looking to return to Victoria for more opportunity at AFL level which we were happy to facilitate, and we thank him for his efforts with the Gold Coast SUNS,” Cameron said via goldcoastfc.com.au.
“By exchanging our selections in this year’s draft with Carlton we have been able to increase our points total to secure our Academy talent and we have also acquired a future selection we can utilise next year.”
