2023-03-26T19:00+11:00

Richmond defender Nathan Broad has been sent straight to the Tribunal for his dangerous tackle on Adelaide’s Patrick Parnell.

The incident occurred in the first quarter of Richmond’s win at the Adelaide Oval, with Broad wrapping up Parnell before slinging him to the ground, with the Crow knocked unconscious as his head hit the turf.

MRO Michael Christian graded the incident as careless, high contact and severe impact and the Tiger looks set to miss three or more weeks.

In other assessed incidents, Port Adelaide defender Ryan Burton was handed a two-match ban for a dangerous tackle on Collingwood’s Jamie Elliott.

While Elliott remained on the field after being dumped in a tackle by Burton, the MRO graded the incident as careless, high contact and high impact.

North Melbourne skipper Jy Simpkin was the other player cited with the Kangaroo offered a one-match ban for striking Fremantle’s Caleb Serong.

Simpkin’s strike was judged as intentional, high contact and low impact.
