Superstar jockeys Jamie Kah and Craig Williams have been transported to hospital after a fall at Flemington in Saturdays’ Group 2 VRC Sires Produce Stakes.
Kah was dislodged from her mount Flyball at the 1000-metre mark after it appeared to clip heels.
Williams, aboard Dubenenko, was also dislodged in the incident.
Kah was initially in and out of consciousness as she was attended to by paramedics on track, however is starting to show signs of improvement ahead of her transport to Royal Melbourne Hospital.
It is understood that Williams may have sustained an injury to his left elbow and shoulder.
Both Flyball and Dubenenko returned to their stabling area following the incident, and will be assessed by veterinary officials later this afternoon.
The VRC Sires’ Produce was won by Veight, trained by Tony and Calvin McEvoy and ridden by Damian Lane.
More to come.
