Lebron James is feared to miss multiple weeks after suffering a foot injury against the Dallas Mavericks, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports.
The Lakers said earlier on Tuesday (AEDT) that James would not play the Memphis Grizzlies, although the injury is reported to be worse than first feared.
James played through the injury after being fouled during a routine drive to the basket and was heard saying “I heard a pop”. He dropped 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Lakers came from behind to win by three points.
James miraculously played through the injury that is now expected to require multiple opinions, sources said, and the Lakers are bracing for his absence to be multiple weeks. https://t.co/zuovQ2wVzc

But that performance is set to cost the game’s all-time leading point scorer. He’s now set to miss an extended period of time at a crucial part of the season.
The Lakers are 29-32 to sit 12th in the Western Conference ahead of Tuesday’s game, but just a game off 10th place.
The timing is horrific for the Lakers, who have found form following their trade deadline moves and are making a move towards the NBA Play-In tournament.
