St Kilda’s Jack Billings will be sidelined for up to eight weeks after fracturing his right fibula in Friday’s practice match against Melbourne at RSEA Park.
Billings, who played just eight senior games in 2022 due to injury, was having his first public outing since surgery last year.
Billings joins a long injury list down at Moorabbin, with forward duo Max King and Tim Membrey both sidelined with serious injuries.
St Kilda’s acting General Manager David Misson confirmed the news on Saturday.
“This is clearly a big blow for Jack who has worked hard over the summer to rejoin the group, recently completing a great month of training,” Misson said.
“Despite the setback, we know Jack will attack his rehab to return to the field as soon as possible.
“For now, we’ll be doing everything we can to support him through this latest injury.”
