Former Richmond utility Sydney Stack appears destined to play for WAFL club Perth in 2023 after being delisted by the Tigers in the off-season.
Originally hailing from the Demons, Perth coach Peter German says from “all indications” Stack will return to the state-league club to wear red and black again.
Having found himself in trouble with the law in recent months after pleading guilty to disorderly behaviour in public and being charged with a string of driving offences, German hopes that Perth Football Club can help get the talented 22-year-old “back on track”.
“To be honest, obviously we’ve only just spoken to him recently,” German told Sportsday WA.
“From all indications, he’s really wanting to come back and put his best foot forward for the Perth Footy Club.
“Watch this space, I think there’s a really good chance for us (to have Sydney) play for the Perth Football Club this year.
“He knows he’s got a bit of work to go, but I think footy clubs are great to be able to help people get them back on track, get them where they need to be and give them a focus.
“We’ve got a really good group of people around and a great environment and I think that’s what we can really offer Sydney.”
Stack last played AFL in Round 8 when he was an unused medical sub for Richmond in their win over Collingwood.
He played 35 games for the Tigers across four seasons at the club.
