Filly primed to run a “career best” in Magic Millions 2YO Classic

2023-01-10T13:52+11:00

Bjorn Baker believes Infatuation is ready to produce a “career best” this weekend.

The two-year-old filly will run in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) at Gold Coast this Saturday in her fifth career start.

Infatuation won her maiden impressively at Randwick last start (December 31) and according to her trainer is now primed to run extremely well in the $2 million juvenile feature.

“I think she’s a chance. Her work this morning was excellent and I really like the setup,” Baker said on SEN Track’s Giddy Up.

“She looks fantastic, she’s travelled up here in great order so we can’t fault her.

“Her best run was probably in the Golden Gift (at Rosehill in November) and it was outstanding.

“I think she’s ready to run a career best.”

Infatuation has drawn barrier 8 and will be ridden by Rachel King in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

She is rated a $9 chance with Sportsbet behind $4.4 favourite Empire Of Japan, Sovereign Fund ($5) and Platinum Jubilee ($7).
