Young Eagle Isiah Winder has been charged with assault for an incident in Geelong in December last year.
The news – confirmed by West Coast on Monday afternoon – comes with Winder returning to AFL training with his teammates.
Winder was at the AFL/AFLPA Indigenous and multicultural Players Summit late last year and had been under investigation for an incident at a party while under the influence of alcohol, it had been reported.
The 20-year-old was stood down by the club at the time, but has since “worked hard to regain the trust and confidence of players and staff”, the Eagles say.
Winder was delisted following West Coast’s 2022 season but was reselected as a rookie. He’s played a total of seven games for the club as a mid-sized forward, with six of those appearances coming in 2022.
He'll face a Victorian court later this year.
