Victoria Police have charged three people over the Melbourne Derby pitch-storming that left Melbourne City goalkeeper Tom Glover concussed and the A-League in disrepute.

The three males charged all presented themselves to police stations on Monday. A 23-year-old Cragieburn man was charged with violent disorder, discharge missile, intent to cause injury, recklessly cause injury, unlawful assault, entry to sporting competition space, disrupting a match, public nuisance and riotous behaviour after allegedly kicking a bucket of sand into Glover.

A 19-year-old Meadow Heights man and an 18-year-old Alphington man were the others charged. It comes after police released images of individuals from AAMI Stadium who they wished to speak to on Sunday night.

Police initially stated 150-200 Melbourne Victory fans stormed AAMI Park and forced the cancellation of the game in the 21st minute.

“All three men self-presented to police stations (on Monday) and have subsequently been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 27 February. The charges come as detectives from the North West Metro Regional Crime Squad continue to investigate the entire incident as part of Operation Astute,” a spokesperson from Victoria Police said, via Nine.

“Police are continuing to trawl through detailed vision of the incidents, and those involved are strongly urged to make themselves known to police immediately.”

Police have also stated the damage to AAMI Park was about $120,000 worth.
