Marnus Labuachagne was at his imperious best on Day 1 of the first Test against the West Indies in Perth.
The no.3 batsman plundered an unbeaten 154 as the home side piled on 2/293 on the opening day of the Aussie Test summer.
Labuschagne was the subject of praise from SEN Cricket’s Adam Collins who labelled him a “machine” after he notched his eighth Test century.
“It’s summer and the weather is fine, for Labuschagne that means tons,” Collins said during the broadcast.
“It’s Marnus the machine. His eighth Test ton, seventh in Australia, second here at Perth and first against the West Indies.
“What a way to start the summer.”

Gerard Whateley was in the chair when Labuschagne ticked over 150 later in the day as Australia set a commanding lead against the touring West Indies.
The 28-year-old Queenslander was alongside Steve Smith who finished the day unbeaten on 59.
“He picks off the next milestone and it does feel like there is a lot in store for Marnus Labuschagne, not just in this Perth Test, but in this Australian summer,” Whateley said.
“Australia has set a commanding platform, largely on the back of Labuschagne who is through 150, and Steve Smith, who I feel like is in for one hell of a summer. There is a century in the offing for sure.
“Australia with a great grip on things, the West Indies wilted as the day went along. We’ve seen so many touring teams suffer that fate.
“How will they back up on Day 2? How far will Australia push this advantage? And when will they go for the throat later in the day?”
Earlier on Day 1, opener David Warner was dismissed cheaply by Jayden Seales for 5 while Usman Khawaja made 65.
Play resumes on Day 2 at 1:20pm AEDT and you can hear all the action LIVE on the SEN app.
