Brisbane has finally secured Josh Dunkley in a trade with the Western Bulldogs.
Having demanded two first-round picks in exchange for the star midfielder, the Bulldogs were compensated with pick 21, a future first, future second round and future fourth pick (tied to Geelong) for giving up the 25-year-old and a future third round pick and future fourth round pick (tied to Melbourne).
Dunkley joins the Lions in the prime of his career having just won the Charles Sutton Medal as the Bulldogs’ best and fairest in 2022.
He departs Whitten Oval a premiership player from 2016 with 116 senior games under his belt.
Brisbane will hope the addition of Dunkley gets them over the hump in 2023 after falling short in a Preliminary Final last campaign.
