Blues secure Fremantle wingman

2022-10-04T14:04+11:00

Carlton has secured Fremantle wingman Blake Acres, the league has confirmed.

The Blues have sent their future third-round pick to Freo in the deal.

Acres played 20 games for Fremantle in 2022, missing a few with a hamstring injury, but was among the club’s best across their finals campaign.

Carlton has reportedly offered the 26-year-old a three-year deal.

It marks the first move for either team in this trade period, though the Dockers are expected to be much busier from here.

Freo will be working to complete trades involving Luke Jackson, Darcy Tucker and Griffin Logue, while the Bulldogs will continue to come for Rory Lobb.

The Blues struggled to lock in their wing spots in across the season, trying the likes of Lochie O’Brien, Jack Newnes, Matt Cottrell, Will Setterfield and more in that role.
