Ben Hunt is set to re-sign with the St George-Illawarra Dragons.
The Telegraph’s David Riccio is reporting that the 32-year-old club captain will soon put pen to a new contract.
Riccio says an announcement from the club is “imminent”.
“I think this is imminent, I really do, as far as Ben Hunt re-signing with St George-Illawarra,” Riccio said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.
“I think we could get some news within the next 24 to 48 hours that Ben Hunt has struck a deal for another two years.
“I would think that takes him out as far as his NRL career goes. He is on contract next year so it would be for '24 and '25.
“I understand all the dialogue, communication and meetings have gone positively with Ben Hunt and I expect him to re-sign.
“We could have some news over the weekend.”
Hunt joined the Dragons from the Broncos prior to the 2018 season and has played more than 100 NRL games in the Red V.
