Werribee midfielder Tom Gribble has won the 2022 JJ Liston Trophy as the VFL’s best and fairest player.
The 27-year-old was a runaway winner of the award at Monday night’s count, polling 30 votes to finish eight clear of the joint runners-up.
That pair was Southport’s Jacob Dawson and Boyd Woodcock who attracted 22 votes.
Brisbane’s Rhys Mathieson was fourth on 21, narrowly ahead of Footscray captain Lachie Sullivan who polled 20 votes for his superb season in the midfield.
It was Gribble’s second straight JJ Liston win after claiming the medal in 2019 when it was last awarded prior to two COVID-impacted campaigns.
Essendon’s Georgia Nanscawen won a second straight Lambert-Pearce Medal as the VFLW’s best and fairest player after winning the award in 2021.
