David King and Gerard Whateley have named their top four following the first week of finals.
King and Whateley have ranked the four teams they have the most confidence in heading into the second week of September, coupled with what they have shown so far.
With six teams left, these are the sides that the duo expect to feature come Preliminary Final weekend.
Geelong and Sydney have both already booked their ticket through to week three, while Melbourne hosts Brisbane and Collingwood hosts Fremantle in this weekend’s Semi-Finals at the MCG.
The seedings will be updated on a weekly basis on SEN’s Whateley throughout the year.
See their week one finals seedings below:
KING:
1. Geelong
“Geelong at one, that’s the awkward, nervous final they had to have,” King said on SEN Breakfast.
“I thought they would’ve smashed Collingwood, in the end, they get over the line.
“But there’s no percentage in finals, you just tick a box, miss a week, see you in the Prelim.”
2. Sydney
“This is Sydney.”
3. Melbourne
“I didn’t think it was that bad.
“The health of them is a concern.”
4. Collingwood
“I’m unchanged, I have got Collingwood at four.”

WHATELEY:
1. Sydney
“I have Sydney at one, they were the best winner of the weekend,” Whateley said on SEN Breakfast.
“They were the best winner … I’m putting them in at one, they can sit there.
“I’ve diligently left Sydney out, now they’re at one.”
2. Geelong
“Geelong is still at two.”
3. Collingwood
“I’ve got Collingwood at three.
“I liked Collingwood’s game, I didn’t really like Melbourne’s game.
“I thought Collingwood were good, I thought they were better in defeat than they have been in their narrow victories.”
4. Melbourne
“I felt they shrank in the face of the Sydney challenge again.
“To win it, they’re going to have to go back through Sydney potentially.”
