2022-08-23T17:13+10:00

Port Adelaide wingman Karl Amon is officially exploring free agency.

The 27-year-old informed the Power on Monday of his desire to exercise his free agency rights after nine years at Alberton.

Amon, an unrestricted free agent, has been linked to St Kilda and Hawthorn throughout the year with the latter now the favourite to secure his signature.

SEN SA host Michelangelo Rucci has revealed the offer the Hawks have put forward to Amon.

“Karl Amon is going to take up free agency,” Rucci told SEN SA’s The Run Home.

“There’s been a lot of stories about whether it was going to be St Kilda or Hawthorn.

“What Hawthorn have put on the table; there’s no way Port will match that in the free agency.”

SEN SA co-host Kym Dillon asked: “How much?”

Rucci replied: “It’s five years around $700,000-plus.”

Amon has played 124 games for Port Adelaide since arriving in the 2013 National Draft, kicking 55 goals.

The Victorian averaged 23.6 disposals and a tick over four inside 50s per game in 2022.
