The Newcastle Knights are seeking a please explain from superstar fullback Kalyn Ponga after he and teammate Kurt Mann were kicked out of a toilet cubicle together.
The club’s investigation was launched after watching video of the incident on Monday morning which showed the pair being removed from a cubicle within a venue by security.
After being located by the guard, Ponga and Mann left without causing a scene.
While it’s yet to be revealed why the pair were located in the cubicle together, Ponga’s father and manager Andre offered a possible explanation.
“He made an exciting house purchase Saturday and celebrated with a few mates drinking,” he told The Daily Telegraph.
“Sick in the toilet and his mate went in to help him.”
Ponga won’t feature again for the Knights in season 2022 as the opts to take a cautious approach to his concussion recovery.
The superstar fullback could still feature for Australia at this year’s Rugby League World Cup in the UK this spring.
