The Melbourne Storm have reportedly landed Wests Tigers outside back David Nofoaluma for the rest of the 2022 season.
The report by The Daily Telegraph’s Michael Carayannis, says the Tiger told his teammates on Tuesday that he’ll play out the season in Melbourne before returning to Concord in 2023.
Nofoaluma’s signing comes after the Storm scrambled to add depth to their depleted backline once Ryan Papenhuyzen went down injured, with the likes of Reece Walsh, Josh Addo-Carr and Daine Laurie all targeted by the club.
Missing out on traditional fullbacks, Nofoaluma will come in and add finishing class on the wing having scored 95 NRL tries from 175 matches.
The 28-year-old hasn’t played for the Tigers since Round 17 as he’s battled concussions and injuries throughout this season.
He scored two tries and made two linebreaks in his last NRL appearance.
He’s contracted to the Tigers until the end of the 2025 season with his Storm move effectively a loan for the rest of the current campaign.
