Carlton is reportedly out of the running for Port Adelaide free agent Karl Amon.
The 26-year-old wingman has been linked with a host of Victorian clubs, including the Blues.
But according to The Age, Carlton won’t be pursuing Amon any further, instead focusing on retaining key players and returning to the draft.
Star forwards Charlie Curnow and Harry McKay are both coming out of contract next year. Emerging ruckman Tom De Koning is also uncontracted beyond 2023.
Hawthorn, St Kilda and Melbourne are all reportedly interested in Amon, who’s eligible for unrestricted free agency.
His contract with the Power expires at the end of the 2022 season.
