2022-07-08T10:20+10:00

Penrith assistant Andrew Webster has been announced as the New Zealand Warriors’ next head coach.

A former assistant at the Warriors, Webster has signed a three-year deal with the club from the start of 2023.

Webster says he can’t wait to make Auckland his home again in 2023.

“I’m excited and honoured about becoming head coach at the Warriors,” Webster said via a statement.

“I loved my time in Auckland when I was last there and I’m really looking forward to making it home again.

“I feel we have a real opportunity to progress the club and I can’t wait to hit the ground in November.”

Penrith CEO Matt Cameron said the club was excited for Webster to progress his career.

“Although we're saddened to see Andrew depart the club at season's end, it's rewarding to see a valued member of the club progress to the next stage of their career,” Cameron said via a statement.

“Andrew has been influential in providing an environment for players to flourish, and played a key role in leading the Panthers to Premiership success.”

Webster will take over from current Warriors interim coach Stacey Jones.
