WATCH | Prestia left concussed by Stewart's high bump

2022-06-25T17:00+10:00

Dion Prestia has been substituted out of Richmond’s clash with Geelong after a head knock in the first quarter.

Prestia was collected by a high shoulder in an ugly incident from Geelong defender Tom Stewart, who ran past the footy before collecting the Richmond midfielder.

The 29-year-old struggled to return to his feet and took several minutes to come from the field under his own two feet with play continuing around him.

Stewart appears likely to come under the inspection of the Match Review Officer for the bump.

Melbourne AFLW star Daisy Pearce told AFL Nation: "I think he'll cop weeks for that."

Two AFL greats shared a similar sentiment.

“He is definitely coming under MRO scrutiny, and let’s be honest, the MRO have tiptoed around this situation for 12-18 months and we haven’t changed player behaviour,” David King told Fox Footy.

“That will be the biggest story of the weekend.”

Garry Lyon added: “It was a real average act from a player you’d least expect it to come from.”

Geelong led Richmond by 20 points at quarter time.
