Glint of Hope wins the Australasian Oaks as Morphettville takes centre stage on Saturday
Saturday racing spread around the nation to end April, but it was Morphettville that took the limelight in hosting the only Group 1 on the day.
The South Australian track hosted three stakes races as well as the feature of the day, Race six providing the perfect highlight in the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes (2000m) to lead into the Oaks.
Legend Damien Oliver steered home Jungle Magnate over short-priced local favourite Harleymoven to salute for the Victorians in a big sweeping run, the champion jockey's only winner for the day.

It was then time for the main race of the day, the 2000 metre Australasian Oaks, where the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained and Jamie Kah-ridden My Whisper started as the favourite.
However, it was the three-year-old Glint of Hope, ridden by in-form Daniel Moor, that held on to upset a gallant Barb Raider, who is proving to be a high-classy filly for connections.
My Whisper filled out the placings.

Morvada then took out the Listed City of Adelaide Handica (1400m), edging out the rank outsider of the field in Bold Star.

Meanwhile, Sandown played host to the Listed Anniversary Vase (1400m), and it was the two favourites that proved their class.
Nick Ryan-trained Regardsmaree took out the prizemoney ahead of Buffalo River, which carried an extra four kilograms compared to the eventual victor.
Eagle Farm saw two Group 2s, with the Queensland Guineas (1600m) as well as the Victory Stakes (1200m) headlining the card.
The Godolphin three-year-old gelding Character took out the Guineas while Brock Ryan produced a stunning ride as Count De Rupee took out the Stakes ahead of Scallopini.
Two Group 1s will take place in South Australia and New South Wales next Saturday as Victorian racing takes a break from the limelight.
