The Dockers have held off a scrappy Blues to secure a 97-62 victory in front of their adoring home fans on Saturday night.
The win sees the Dockers rise to second on the AFL ladder as the Blues missed their chance to close the gap on the top four.
Blues fans would be sweating on the fitness of ruckman Marc Pittonet, who went down with what appears to be a serious knee injury.
For the Dockers, their ruckman Sean Darcy was also ruled out due to a concussion and is in doubt for next week.
Young gun Andrew Brayshaw continued his stellar start to the season with 27 disposals and eight tackles and was well supported in the midfield by Caleb Serong (25 disposals, three marks) and Will Brodie (one goal, 26 disposals), who is fast becoming a real problem for opposing teams.
Brennan Cox was influential in collecting 17 disposals and 12 marks alongside Luke Ryan (23 disposals, 10 marks), while the forwards for the Dockers were potent with Lachie Schultz (three goals, 16 disposals, 11 marks) Rory Lobb (three goals, 11 marks) and Sam Switkowski (two goals,19 disposals) all having their best games of the year.
On return from his one-week hamstring injury, Carlton skipper Patrick Cripps was the shining light for the Blues with 32 disposals on top of his three goals and found assistance through the ever-reliable Sam Walsh (36 disposals, four tackles) and Adam Cerra (32 disposals, five tackles) on his return to Perth.
Despite having more of the footy (380-357), the Blues failed to get it inside 50 with a 56-38 deficit.
Although most other leading stats were even, the Dockers were cleaner and more penetrating with the ball and as a result, were too strong on the day.
The Dockers will face Geelong at GMHBA Stadium in arguably their toughest test of the year, while the Blues will be confident to bounce back against the struggling North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.
