Former Collingwood list boss Ned Guy has joined the AFL as the league’s player movement manager.
AFL.com.au’s Cal Twomey is reporting clubs were advised on Monday that Guy would now form part of the AFL’s list management team, and will report to Brad Scott in the football operations department.
It’s understood that part of Guy’s new role will revolve around new rules surrounding trade and free agency as well as the drafts, with the league continuing to add to the player movement schedule.
The role will also include aspects of the AFLW player movement and compliance team in total player payments.
It’s Guy’s first new role back in footy circles after departing Collingwood midway through 2021 following the ‘firesale’ trade period at the club the year prior.
He was previously among the leading player agents before taking the job at the Magpies in 2017.
