The AFL Players’ Association AFLW 22Under22 final team was released on Tuesday morning, recognising the best 22 players aged 22 and under for the entirety of the AFLW season.
Carlton midfielder Madison Prespakis continued her hot streak, earning a third successive 22 Under 22 selection, as well as being named the vice-captain of the side.
Richmond's Monique Conti, Carlton's Georgia Gee, and the Giants' Alyce Parker were also selected for a third consecutive time, with Conti named captain of the fan-voted squad.
Unsurprisingly, Conti was also the most popular member, chosen by 92 per cent of voters. Closely followed by Brisbane’s Natalie Grider and Geelong's Rebecca Webster, chosen by 86 per cent and 80 per cent of voters respectively.
Brisbane and the Gold Coast Suns had the most representatives with three members named each.
Demonstrating the rise in woman’s footy, 10 new faces graced the 22Under22 team for 2022. The No.1 and No.2 draft selections in Charlie Rowbottom and Georgie Prespakis both made the side in their first AFLW season. The Prespakis sisters have become the first sibling duo to be picked in the AFL Women’s 22Under22 team.
