Former Parramatta winger Blake Ferguson is reportedly keen on making an NRL return.
The report, in The Daily Telegraph, suggests Ferguson is eyeing a return to Australian first-grade after his stint in Japan ended when he was caught with cocaine in a Tokyo restaurant.
As a result of the incident, Ferguson was released from his rugby union franchise the NEC Green Rockets and spent 29 nights in jail.
While the 32-year-old went unsigned by the Eels at the end of last season, his manager, Sam Ayoub, told The Telegraph that he’ll be reaching out to Australian based clubs in hopes of returning next week.
Fox Sports don’t believe Parramatta will make a play for the former Origin flyer despite losing Sean Russell to injury in the opening round.
Ferguson had his passport returned to him last week and landed back in Australia on the weekend.
The outside back played 249 NRL games before moving to Japan, with successful stints coming for the Sharks, Raiders, Roosters and Eels.
