Tributes have flowed for Rod Marsh following his death on Friday morning, aged 74.
The Australian cricket legend passed away in Adelaide after suffering a heart attack in Bundaberg last Thursday.
The gloveman played 96 Tests for Australia from 1970 to 1984 and served as a national selector post his playing career.
Former Australian paceman Brett Lee described his former cricket academy coach as a true legend of the sport.
“It’s rocked everyone,” Lee said on SEN Mornings.
“I think it’s taken everyone by surprise, 74 years young.
“The guy played 96 Test matches … he is an absolute legend of the game, a legend of a bloke, a typical Aussie that played his cricket hard and enjoyed a beer.
“I got to know Rod extremely well down at the cricket academy in 1994/95, he was just a terrific guy.”
A raft of former players and cricket personalities took to Twitter to pay tribute to Marsh following his passing.

Sad day with the passing of the great Rod Marsh. His saying, “cricket is a simple game made complicated” still resonates with me. Rod will be missed, thoughts are with his family. #ripRodMarsh

I always found him generous and kind. While chair of selectors, with tongue in cheek, he called my wedding party to tell them they’d been ‘selected’.
And witty: “Nev, every white wine wishes it was a red wine”
Thinking of his loved ones
Oh man. Sad day. Sending all my love to the whole Marsh family xx https://t.co/xrIz1hIAEY
