An umpire sensationally stormed off the field during a suburban cricket match in Victoria last Saturday.
Footage has emerged of a one-day game between Bulleen Templestowe Cricket Club and St Davids descending into chaos after a caught behind decision went against the latter.
Players from St Davids were heard directing verbals at the opposition and umpire Bruce Porter following his decision.
A St Davids player was overheard saying: “You’re f---ing kidding me!” While another said: “Absolutely smashed the cover off it!”
Fed up with the treatment he received, Porter began marching from the field and waved to the players before getting in his car and driving away.
“See you later … bye. See you later … bye,” Porter said.
“Have a good game.”
The match in the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association was abandoned with the two clubs now under investigation following the ugly altercation.
Umpire Porter is yet to make an official complaint.
