Sydney Thunder's Mohammad Hasnain made a remarkable introduction to the BBL this week.
In a nomination that will surprise very few, Hasnain made his incredible debut earlier in the week against the Strikers, taking a triple wicket maiden in his first over before finishing with figures of 3-20 from his four overs.
It was the 21-year-old Pakistan international’s first BBL match, delivering an over that will no doubt go down as the best to be bowled by a league debutant.
He struck on his second ball when dismissing Matt Short caught at deep backward square, and had two in two balls when Jake Weatherald was trapped for LBW.
While a hat-trick wasn’t to be, Jono Wells only lasted two deliveries before a pull shot ended up in the hands of mid-wicket.
The quick bowler reached pace of up to 149 kilometres an hour to further underline his credentials.
He missed the Thunder’s last game against the Perth Scorchers but is expected to re-join the side in Melbourne.
Hasnain is this week’s MEGT Australia BBL Rookie of the Week.
