Josh Giddey is fast becoming a player Australians can brag about on the big stage, not even a year into his NBA career.
The 19-year-old was the no. 6 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and has cemented his position in the Oklahoma City Thunder's line-up.
A little over a week ago Giddey fell just short of recording a triple-double against the Clippers and lamented how he “couldn’t make” a shot in the final quarter.
Against the Pelicans on Monday afternoon, Giddey’s wayward shooting was back to hand him a strange record.
The guard finished with 10 rebounds and 10 assists to his name, but not a single point to become the first player in 50 years to record a double-double without scoring.
He went 0-8 from the floor, however it’s unlikely to faze the Thunder as Giddey put up 50 points in his previous three games.
The Thunder triumphed 117-112 in the clash with the Pelicans but remain 13th in the Western Conference.
