Mitch Marsh was the star of the show again for the Perth Scorchers with a Man of the Match performance on Wednesday night.
‘The Bison’ delivered with both bat and ball as the Scorchers smashed their way to victory over the Melbourne Renegades at Marvel Stadium.
He struck a powerful 86 from 53 balls, including five fours and five sixes, in his side’s highest away total of 5/206 with Englishman Laurie Evans clattering a late 42 not out from just 16 deliveries.
Kane Richardson was easily the pick of the ‘Gades bowlers with figures of 3/33.
Now THAT’S what you call a six! 🤩

While the 21-run triumph might look comfortable enough on paper, it didn’t come without a few scares for the visiting Perth side as Renegades duo Aaron Finch (back from a knee injury) and Nic Maddinson made the run chase intriguing.
Finch hammered 68 (43 balls) while Maddinson clubbed 67 (41 balls) for a Renegades’ record partnership of 130 after opener Mackenzie Harvey fell for a second-ball duck. The pair combined for eight sixes, making it a busy night for the Marvel crowd who saw the ball fly over the rope on no less than 20 occasions across the night.
A sweet, SWEET six by Finch! 🤩

It was Marsh (in his tight spell of 1/20 off three overs) who removed Maddinson, however, which dead-ended the hopes of the ‘Gades who again came up short.
They remain anchored to the bottom of the BBL|11 ladder with just one win from five matches and only four points.
At the other end of the standings, the Scorchers are looking fairly sharp on top with a faultless 5-0 record and 17 points as they prepare to take on the Renegades at Marvel again on Boxing Day.
