The TAB Phoenix is finally here and what a night it's going to be!
Sports Entertainment Network and SENTrack selected Melbourne Cup winning greyhound Koblenz and it looks a huge chance from box 8.
The race, to be run at The Meadows on December 18, provides a unique opportunity for SEN listeners, with eight lucky winners already winning a share in Koblenz and the potential to win big on the night.
Check out our lucky Phoenix sweep winners and get to know them, their love for racing and what they love most about SEN and SEN Track.

What is your favourite thing about SENTrack and SEN?
I love sport of all kinds and I’m out on the road a bit with my job, so I can keep up to date with everything that’s going on. Also enjoy all the racing insights and tips from the team. Obviously loved taking the ride with Troy a couple of times a week and the banter on the group chat has also been very funny.
How long have you been following greyhound racing?
I’ve had an interest from a punting perspective for several years, but this is the first time I’ve invested any money into ownership. Up until now I’ve just had the horses.

What is your favourite thing about SENTrack and SEN?
I love that this station gives the audience a voice. I love all types of sports so the station suits my family and myself down to the ground. We can listen all day and all night especially on the weekends.
We have it on when we go to bed and to be able to text in at any time of the night is awesome. My wife cracks it with me cause I have woken her up cause I will send a text in to the overnight crowd at 2.00 or 3.00 in the morning or I can be sending a text in to coxy at 5.00 -6.00 in the morning with tradies news in a nut shell.
The best thing about it is your station gives people a voice that we can send it texts and everyone is happy to read them out and the banter we can have with your hosts and other members of the audience is awesome.
How long have you been following greyhound racing?
Since I was about 8. My now brother in law ( Merv) was a greyhound trainer back in his very early days.
My dad when I was young would take us to shepparton, ballarat, etc to watch Merv’s greyhounds race. We would even travel on school nights especially shepparton on Thursday nights and get back home very late at nights. Back then my family’s home was in Greensborough.
Once a couple of Merv’s greyhounds that we had got very attached to had finished racing my Mum and Dad offered to take them in as pets. ( Back then the greyhound adoption program would not have even been thought of). These animals are unbelievable as pets, so placid and would just lay around the backyard.
Every now and then during the day one of the greyhounds would bolt around the backyard for a couple of minutes and that would be it for the rest of the day. I think people see a muzzle around a greyhound and presume they are vicious and dangerous but they could not be further from the truth.
It’s amazing the amount of people you see walking greyhounds around the street now as pets so the greyhound adoption program is doing an amazing job now and I think the word is getting out that these animals are not dangerous.
I eventually got myself into greyhound ownership about 10 years ago and purchased a couple of greyhounds over a 5 year period with our very good friends being the greyhound trainers the Bahen family who are from Yuroke.
What will you do with your share of the winnings from the Phoenix?
Actually already have spoken with my wife about this and if we are lucky enough to win the first prize we would donate a percentage to a greyhound charity. Whether that be the greyhound adoption program or whether another greyhound charity that we could donate to we would certainly do that. Obviously whatever we win we would look at making some sort of donation in same way.
Who is your favourite greyhound in Australia?
Don’t really have a real favourite. The bahen family awhile ago had this greyhound that was going to be the next big thing in greyhound racing called Hot Chill.
This greyhound was running times that people were hearing about and the spruke was getting loud. Was really looking forward to seeing what this greyhound was going to produce but unfortunately broke down in a trial.
Out of the current crop Aston Rupee is pretty high up.
Where will you be watching The Phoenix?
Hopefully from the Meadows live on the 18th December.

Been following greyhounds on and off for a while now . In the early 1990’s I would go with a few friends to the Tuesday night Shepparton greyhound races and have fun punting with the local bookies and really since sentrack has kicked of I am getting back into it a lot more again.
What will you do with your share of the winnings from the Phoenix?
What to do with my share , well I told the wife about it and she suggested pay some bills or put it towards out new caravan we are purchasing, I just laughed, my suggestion is firstly if we get first place is heading to Total tools and getting my hands on some Makita cordless tools then get a golf membership for myself and my son after that purchase some gold ( solid investment ) and finally I have been working on a roulette system for awhile a will try it out at the casino.
