After being delisted by Geelong, Charlie Constable was thrown an AFL lifeline by the Gold Coast Suns.
The Suns selected the 22-year-old with pick No.63 in November’s National Draft, adding to the club’s midfield depth for next season.
Constable starred in the VFL but found senior opportunities few and far between at the Cats, playing just 12 games in four seasons.
Oscar Brownless, a former teammate of Constable’s at Geelong, is thrilled to see the ex-Cat get a second chance at AFL level with the Suns.

“‘Chook’s a star mate,” Brownless told SEN Mornings.
“I lived with Chook for the past few years so I might be a bit biased, but it’s great to see him get another opportunity – one that’s thoroughly deserved, I think.
“The numbers speak for themselves in the VFL, he would just go out and dominate week in, week out.
“Unfortunately, it didn’t quite line up with the senior team in Geelong, but it’s great to see the Gold Coast have taken a punt on him and I’m sure that he won’t let them down.
“It’ll be good to see him develop there. I think the Suns supporters have a lot to be excited about.”
Constable was selected with pick No.36 in the 2017 National Draft.
He averaged 18.5 disposals across 12 senior games at Geelong.
