The NFL has been overrun with COVID cases as the league enters it’s home stretch before the playoffs.
Currently, 62 players have tested positive for the virus in the last 48 hours, with many more close contacts in isolation protocols.
The LA Rams have been hit particularly hard, adding six players to an already swelling COVID list, including wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr and star cornerback Jalen Ramsay.
LA, Cleveland, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota and Washington have all entered the league’s advanced protocols, allowing them to hold team meetings virtually and call up players from their practice squad as they need.
The league is expecting mandate booster jabs for team staff in the coming days.
It comes as the NBA deals with its own COVID headaches, postponing two Chicago games as they team deals with mass player unavailability.
In Europe, the English Premier League is also tightening its protocols, with players and staff to receive daily tests.
The NFL thus far has not cancelled or postponed any games.
