St George Illawarra forward Tariq Sims could be on the move for the 2023 season with Parramatta identifying him as a player of interest according to The Daily Telegraph.
According to the report, Sims, 31, will be targeted by the Eels as they’re set to lose big men Marata Niukore, Ray Stone and Isaiah Papali’i to rivals after next season.
Sims, a New South Wales representative, has also reportedly been told by his club that they don’t want to lose him but he’s yet to receive a contract offer beyond this season.
As he comes off contract for the 2023 campaign, rivals are free to negotiate with the veteran for that year and beyond.
Sims has also previously been linked to a bevy of NRL clubs including the Storm, Tigers, Roosters, Cowboys, Broncos, Rabbitohs and Panthers.
While he earned north of $600,000 per year with his current deal, his next contract is set to take a haircut due to his age.
The second-rower has made 204 NRL appearances since 2011 across stints with the Cowboys, Knights and Dragons.
