Magic Millions Classic favourite Coolangatta is ticking all the right boxes ahead of her $2 million grand final on the Gold Coast next month.
The two-year-old will trial at Randwick this Tuesday before she makes the trip north where she will kick off her campaign on Boxing Day in the Group 3 BJ McLachlan Stakes (1200m).
Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, the Written Tycoon Filly will trial over the 1000m trip against older horses as connections look to build her fitness ahead of her first-up target.
“She’s going really well, she’s ready to trial on the 7th of December, she’ll have a nice hit out over the 1000m at Randwick and then we’ve got two and a half weeks till the B J McLachlan which is our plan first-up,” Assistant Trainer Jack Bruce said on SEN Track’s Bensley.
THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE!

“She’s going super, she’s right where we need her to be.
“She’s a very athletic filly and she does exactly as you ask so it didn’t take long for us to get her back where she needs to be.
“As soon as she gets on the track and works, it’s quite obvious her class is on show for all to see.
“It’s good to have her back in good form, she’s going really well and obviously she’s going to have quite an arduous two-year-old year ahead of her so we just want to make sure everything is on track and take it one step at a time.
“She’s going to be a lovely filly, it’s exciting stuff.”
Bookmakers see the two-year-old Classic as a one-act affair with Coolangatta the only horse at single-figure odds ($2.20) in the feature.
