What's next for Glen Boss?

On Saturday afternoon we said goodbye to Glen Boss the rider, as he piloted stayer Spanish Mission in the Group 2 Zipping Classic for his final race ride.

Speaking on SEN’s Gilly and Goss, ‘Bossy’ discussed what’s next for racing's greatest showman as he begins his next journey with betting company Ladbrokes in a media role.

“Now the next adventure, it’s not like I’m walking away from racing or walking away to do nothing, I’m walking away into a new adventure, and I’m really excited about it,” he said.

“It made it easier for me to make that decision.

“It’s a wonderful fit for me, they’re a young team, they’re very on the edge and their production is unbelievable quality.

“They’re going to give me a platform to basically not just do whatever I want, but they’re going to give me a platform to really run off me and the ideas that I’ve got.

“We’ll come up with some amazing ideas and I’m actually really looking forward to it, it’s exciting."

A winner of 90 Group 1s in his career, Boss reflected on what he’ll miss most from life as a jockey.

“Just being on the horse, that’ll be the biggest thing I miss,” he added.

“Just those moments, the moments that you guys probably won’t see, feel, or even imagine, just being on the horses and moulding them into reaching the potential that they can.

“I’ll continue to ride here and there, just because I love being on a horse's back, I feel more comfortable being on a horse's back than I do walking on the ground.”
