LA Lakers forward LeBron James has been ejected for just the second time in his career after elbowing Detroit Pistons forward Isaiah Stewart in a fiery clash.
The incident occurred in the third quarter when James and Stewart became tangled after a Pistons free throw.
James' arm then connected with Stewart which incited an all-in brawl.
Stewart was visibly upset as blood began to pour from his right eye and cheekbone and was held back by teammates and Pistons officials on several occasions.
The commentators labelled Stewart’s behaviour as “ridiculous” and “crazy” as he repeatedly tried to reignite the brawl and confront James. Stewart was also ejected for his role in escalating the incident.
After both teams had calmed down, the referees called a flagrant foul 2 on James for the contact and was ejected for just the second time in his 19-year career.
His first ejection was for arguing a call with a referee back in 2017.
It was an interesting night for Lebron James who shot his 2,000th career 3-pointer a minute prior to elbowing Stewart.
The Lakers rallied and came from behind to win 121-116 on the back of 30 points by Anthony Davis.
The Lakers will face the Pistons next Monday.
