Jos Buttler has essentially sealed England a spot in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, smashing an unbeaten century to set up a 26-run win.
England looked under pressure for the first time in the 2021 tournament, however Buttler hit 101 runs off 67 balls to steer his side to a total of 167.
Sri Lanka looked a chance of chasing down the score but was ultimately left short after being bowled out for 137 in the 19th over.
Buttler’s captain, Eoin Morgan, was the only Englishman capable of going with the opener during the innings, hitting a composed knock of 40 runs off 36 balls.
England has won all of their matches so far, going undefeated in four games and consolidating their position atop of their group. They are the current favourites to claim the tournament.
They only need one more win to guarantee finals, but look likely to play either way.
South Africa and Australia are next in the group of six with four points each from their two wins.
Only the top two nations from each group go through to the semi-finals.
Very proud day for me and great character from the boys! I love this team!! 🏴 pic.twitter.com/jlQlFlZHBH
