2021-10-29T07:30+11:00

West Coast forward Jamaine Jones has been caught drink driving and will face court on Friday.

He allegedly had a blood alcohol reading exceeding 0.08.

It’s not clear when the incident occurred, however the Eagles said via a statement they are “bitterly disappointed with Jones’ actions” and will likely offer a separate sanction to the 23-year-old on top of the legal system.

Jones began to find his feet for the Eagles in 2021, playing 15 matches this year before suffering an ankle injury late in the season.

West Coast Eagles small forward Jamaine Jones will tomorrow face court on a charge of driving with a blood alcohol level exceeding 0.08.

Jones informed the club immediately at the time of the offence and the matter will now be dealt with by the legal system.

The club is bitterly disappointed with Jones’ actions and will review the incident after the hearing with the likelihood of a separate sanction.

There is no excuse for getting behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol and Jones is extremely remorseful for this serious error of judgement.

The club will make no further comment on the matter at this stage.
