T20 captain Aaron Finch has revealed the makeup of his side that will face South Africa in the team’s opening clash in the limited-overs World Cup.
The Aussies have typically struggled in the shortest format of the game but have a full squad primed and are among the favourites for the tournament.
The team generally played with five specialist bowlers during T20 matches last year, however Finch confirmed a rejigged side.
"We'll go in with seven specialist batters, four specialist bowlers plus the allrounders," Finch told cricket.com.au.
"We've got a lot of confidence in Maxwell, Stoinis and Marsh to be able to bowl four overs as well as a chop out.
"We think that on these wickets in these conditions that they can do a really good job and be an attacking option as much as anything."
The confirmation comes as The Daily Telegraph reports that Josh Hazlewood is firming to be in the starting 11 alongside Mitch Starc as the two quick seam options, which could leave superstar Pat Cummins left out of the squad.
Australia has played two practice matches so far, scoring a win over New Zealand before falling to a heavy defeat at the hands of India.
The clash with South Africa begins at 9pm AEDT.
