New Zealand golfer Steve Alker is enjoying a golden run of form, finishing in the top 10 six times from six tournaments, shortly after celebrating his 50th birthday in recent months.
Competing in the PGA TOUR Champions, Alker has produced over $600,000USD in prize money in recent weeks, and joined SENZ Breakfast to discuss his recent form.
“It’s given me the confidence to go ahead, and made me feel like I belong,” Alker said.
“The top 10s have been great for me, to get a next week, keeping playing, get a roll going.
“(My golf game has) been solid across the board, and that’s really what I’ve been working on.”
Alker said feeling more comfortable on tours was the key to his newfound success.
“I’m just relaxed out there, my game has come together nicely at the right time,” he added.
“I’m loving the opportunity to get out there… it’s more of a relaxed atmosphere.”
The Kiwi is preparing for the SAS Championship in North Carolina this weekend, where he will look to continue his streak of top 10 finishes.
