Nick Dal Santo says Hawthorn’s Jaeger O’Meara to Fremantle “makes sense” to him.
The names of senior Hawks continue to be bandied around in trade circles, with constant chatter surrounding the club and a number of players believed to be on the table.
Dal Santo sees midfielder O’Meara as one potential trade option, provided the Hawks are actually keen on improving their draft hand and moving established players on.
The Dockers recently lost Adam Cerra to Carlton and although they added Will Brodie from Gold Coast, could do with a more apt replacement for the departing young gun, especially with David Mundy well in the twilight of his career.

“Will Brodie has gone there, I think he could add to that midfield group,” the former Saint and Kangaroo said on AFL Trade Radio’s Trade Mornings.
“Clearly you lose Adam Cerra, so you’ve got to find a way to replace him.
“I still like the O’Meara move from Hawthorn right now. I know he’s a WA boy, but even take that out of it. I think where he’s at right now…
“David Mundy won’t play forever, even though he’s trying to. I still think that O’Meara move makes sense to me from where they currently sit.”
O’Meara’s name is constantly bundled into the mix whenever Hawthorn’s apparent trade plans are discussed, putting him front and centre in the conversation.
The former Sun is contracted with Hawthorn until the end of 2023, while the Dockers hold picks 6, 8, 19, 22, 61, 69 and 84 in this year’s draft.
Are there some selections in the above lot that could interest the Hawks?
Port Adelaide had been linked with O’Meara, but that prospective move appears highly unlikely with the Power showing little interest.
