Cats delist son of a gun without playing a game

2021-10-12T17:19+11:00

Geelong has delisted Oscar Brownless after three years at the club.

The 21-year-old was picked up by the Cats with pick 74 in the 2018 AFL National Draft as a father-son selection and played 27 VFL games throughout his time in the system.

He finished runner up in Geelong’s VFL best and fairest in 2021.

However, the son of Geelong great Billy Brownless couldn’t force his way into the club’s AFL lineup during his three seasons on the list.

Geelong general manager of football Simon Lloyd thanked Brownless’ “professional attitude” in a club statement:

“Oscar is an outstanding person, and we thank him for his contribution to the club,” Lloyd said in the statement.

“Oscar’s warmth, positivity and professional attitude saw him form many strong relationships over his three years at Geelong.

“We look forward to seeing him succeed in his future endeavours.”

Charlie Constable is now the only player at the club without a contract for 2022.
