Report: Blazers knock back Simmons offer due to 76ers’ demands

2021-10-10T11:41+11:00

The Portland Trail Blazers have reportedly knocked back an offer from Philadelphia as the 76ers look to trade Australian star Ben Simmons.

With Simmons unwilling to return to the 76ers for the upcoming season, Philadelphia president of basketball operations Daryl Morey has been looking for a suitable trade, but is yet to find a viable option.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the 76ers requested three-first round picks, three pick-swaps and All-Star guard CJ McCollum for the 25-year-old Aussie.

While Simmons has reportedly emptied his home in Philadelphia in readiness for a move elsewhere, Charania added that his agent Rich Paul, the 76ers’ front office and coach Doc Rivers have “remained in dialogue” if the point guard chooses to report back to training camp.

Simmons has four years and $147 million (USD) remaining on his maximum deal with Philadelphia.
